Thoughts for the pessimists
What makes your brain tick?
According to researchers, any part of your body, if you don't use it you lose
it, and particularly your brain, the more you use it the more brainy you become.
Which part of the airplane is the safest place?
If you ask the check-in counter when you next fly, you probably will be arrested
in these days. Even the Civil Aviation Authority will not give you an official
answer to this question.
According to expert insiders, the black box flight recorder is placed in the
back of the plane because 'that's always the least damaged part of the
wreckage'.
But don't draw your own conclusions yet.
Insiders point out that (where you are facing), more important than your seat
number, is the direction you're facing.
In an RAF troop transport planes, all seats face toward the
tail - i.e. backward. (That those seats on commercial airliners are reserved for
Stewards).
The RAF had decided to fix all seats backwards some 30 years ago, after accident
research proved that it saved lives.
Passengers seated backwards have a larger surface area of
their body cushioned and are less likely to suffer serious injury when they're
forced into the chair than they would be out of it.
Now for your conclusion, to survive a plane crash landing, the best advice is to
sit facing backwards, at the rear of the plane, against the toughest bulkhead
you can find - i.e. the rear Stewards seats.
What's the moral in these stories?
